It is with great excitement that I share this news:
5 of my images placed in the latest ISPWP quarterly photo contest leaving me with an OVERALL 3rd PLACE FINISH! This is an enormous honor considering the caliber of work that was submitted. I highly recommend swinging by and browsing the contest galleries...there is some awe-inspiring work to be seen from all around the world. Here's a link:

...and here is what placed:
1st Place - Emotional Impact

3rd Place - Bride & Groom Portrait

3rd Place - Engagement Portrait

5th Place - Pure Art

12th Place - Wedding Details

The following didn't place, but were in the same folder so I figured I'd share them. This is visual:ramblings, after all :)

Steering clear of my soapbox, I want to quickly say that this recognition is especially fulfilling for two reasons:
-First being that it is a photography award...it is based on imagery and not image. On work and not clout. Names are NOT factored into the judging, leaving the work to speak for itself.
-Second, being recognized in categories as diverse as photojournalism, pure art, details and portrait - all in the same contest - confirms that my work can not be stuffed into a box. I am not interested in trying to steer or control it. I allow it to be what it is, to flow as it should. ...as we should :)
It is a great honor have my work stand alongside such inspiring company. It is testament to the many amazing couples who motivate me to continually push forward.
