Visual Ramblings: the chronicles of tomas flint - visual explorer.

Enthusiastic observer of light, love & all things living.

Greetings beautiful blog people. Welcome to the newly renovated visual:ramblings. Here you'll find stories of love, tid-bits of wisdom and visual ramblings detailing the life and times of yours truly. The idea here is not to simply showcase my work, but to establish and maintain an interactive environment where readers and contributors become one in the same - as this space does not belong to me, but to all who breathe life into it through reading, embracing and reacting to its visual randomness. I sincerely hope that you enjoy your visit and look forward to a wonderful journey together.

Lori & Erik Part Deux...The Ceremony.

Hey Blog World!!!

Here's the second of three installments from Lori and Erik's Wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last month. This is the ceremony portion. Short and sweet...what a beautiful experience to re-live!! Thanks again, and a million times over, to all of you guys for making Erich and I feel so welcome and encouraged. Shoot me over an email, fire off a msg, or leave a comment if you want to view the entire event on my proofing page. I'll get right back to you with directions on how to do so. I think that it's worth a view (...but then again, I may be biased!!!).

Cabo, part deux...

Alrighty then...

As for other happenings in the life and times...

Just had a killer wedding in the Adirondack's this past weekend. As my good buddy Mike Lindacher says..."life is just better in the adirondacks". Mountain air, sunsets, tipping back a few cans of Utica Club at The Tap Room in Raquette Lake. Good times. Good times. I'll be writing about it in more detail soon.

After much frustration, I finally sucked it up and invested in new studio equipment. New computers, monitors...you name it. I even got one of those fancy wacom tablet writing thingies. It still feels strange, but I've heard that once you get used to it, you can never go without. Anyway, what was taking me weeks before is taking minutes now. Ok...I'm exagerating. But I do feel like I've entered a new dimension. Warp speed. Sky's the limit...I'm all sorts of fired up!!! I forgot how much I used to like tooling away on computers. Big ups to Pdoe for his hand in all of this...you are the most talented computer geek in the Universe.

Alright y'all...back to work.

Happy 4th everybody!!!

Without further ado...I present...Cabo...Part 1

...and so it begins. The first in a series of posts featuring my recent trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. Over 4 days of shooting, highlighted by two spectacular weddings. And memories to last a lifetime. I cannot begin to thank you all for the experience. Having artistic freedom in such an beautiful environment was a dream come true. Thank you to Lori and Erik for believing in me...I'm so excited about these photos!! Enormous gratitude to Leslie and Silvio for including us in your very intimate, very special event. To Andrea Maunz for getting this whole thing rolling, I owe you big time. And to everyone who attended, it was pure magic. Erich Camping...my man. I couldn't imagine doing this without you. Thank you for bringing your 'A-game'. Your images ROCK!!

So...the photos from Lori and Erik's Wedding are uploading as we speak. Should be done by mid-week, barring complications. I managed to narrow it down to about 850. This will require a few cups of coffee and some serious time in front of the computer, but I assure you that it's worth it. At least, I hope that you all think it's worth it!!

As far as blog posts go, I am going to break them down into three postings...this being the first. Two more to follow that will feature ceremony and reception. These are just preps...and in the interest of space, i had to leave some out. The first image, however, I did not leave out. This is why I do what I do...I'll let the photos talk for a while...

Like I said...this is just a preview. I will let everyone know when the upload is complete so that you can see the entire event. Just leave a comment or drop an email and I will get you on a list.

In other news...

Today is my baby sister's 28th birthday!!!! Happy Birthday Ali!!!! I am so freekin proud of you...even if you are old and bit washed up. Wasn't more than a year ago that we were packed up tight in the Camry, cruising the open road cross this great land of ours. Stellar times...

Careful what you wish for...

Hey Everyone!!

I hope that this finds you well.

I am well.

I'm super swamped lately. I feel kinda like I'm swimming against a current, but I'm enjoying it more the more I fight it...is that wierd?? That being said, I wanted to take a moment to thank my amazing supporting cast of friends and family who've been putting up with my spazz nature lately. I love you all and appreciate you enormously. That goes for everyone...friends, family, clients, peers, mentors...you all rock! So to all my peeps...thank you.

I'll keep it short...tommy need sleepy. Here are some pics from a recent wedding. Steph and Pat came in from Colorado to celebrate with friends and family back home in Rochester. We had a blast with this crew. We're really looking forward to heading out to Colorado in July to see you guys. Nothing like some Rocky Mountain Sky...so fired up!! I brought along the super-talented Kelli Marsh on the gig who worked so hard for so long, and came away with some killer images. Thank you Kel...you were (and are) amazing.

Cabo weddings coming up hopefully by the weekend...stay tuned!!

Cheers,
t

Hangin w the boys in Canandaigua

Hello Hello!!

Two weeks have already passed since shooting this breathtaking wedding @ Morgan Samuel's Bed & Breakfast in Canadaigua, New York. The day couldn't have been more perfect. Beautiful people, beautiful settings, beautiful weather and on and on. I spent the morning hangin with the boys as they tipped back cocktails, joked around and eventually got ready for the day. A super huge thank you to Brian and the fellas for giving me all access creative freedom...I had a blast. Thanks to Erich Camping for continuing to inspire...fully lit reception...no going back now my man!! ...and to Amanda Padgham for joining us. It was great working with you both!!

Here are some snaps from the day...

What a great day!!

In other news...
Just got back from a 2-wedding stint in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. If I didn't have the pictures to prove it, I would swear that the whole thing was a dream. Please check back soon as I am working through those events. Special thanks to Natalie at Baja Weddings for all of your help with logistics. You are amazing at what you do. I'll see you soon Natalie...no doubt.

Tomorrow is another airport day. I'm off to Orlando, Fla to join 12 other talented, determined photographers at Garrett & Joy Nudd's Elevate 2 Seminar. Three days of shop talk, business development and hopefully a little shooting as well. Day 4 is a big one. I'm finally hitting up Zack Arias' One-Light Workshop!! I cannot wait to hear what he has to say. I'm so fired up!!!

So I'll cut it off here in the hopes of getting some laundry done. Please remember to subscribe to the blog if you're interested in keeping up with the life and times.

I hope that this finds you all shiny, happy and well air-conditioned.

Best Always,
