Visual Ramblings: the chronicles of tomas flint - visual explorer.

Enthusiastic observer of light, love & all things living.

Greetings beautiful blog people. Welcome to the newly renovated visual:ramblings. Here you'll find stories of love, tid-bits of wisdom and visual ramblings detailing the life and times of yours truly. The idea here is not to simply showcase my work, but to establish and maintain an interactive environment where readers and contributors become one in the same - as this space does not belong to me, but to all who breathe life into it through reading, embracing and reacting to its visual randomness. I sincerely hope that you enjoy your visit and look forward to a wonderful journey together.

Hurry Never (and other words to inspire)

Photobucket

Holy Blog-Slacking!!!

In the midst of all of the excitement, I neglected to share my adventures (Boo for me). For this I apologize and promise to get you all up to speed.

Since my last post we've traveled to England to share an amazing week with a talented bunch of international photographers who I am proud to call friends. In fact, Kelli and I worked as models for the group and benefited tremendously from being on the other side of the camera. We visited London and took a trek up to Liverpool, the home of The Beatles!!! Since arriving back home, we've spent a night hanging out with Josh Ritter and the boys from Gomez, shot some incredible 3rd Wheel Sessions, Weddings, and even an Arrival Celebration for a couple bringing their adopted African baby home for the first time...an unforgettable experience. In addition to that, we bought our FIRST CONDO! A two bedroom waterfront beauty on the Irondequoit Bay...fully equipped with a large porch, stunning views and a boat slip to boot!!! Needless to say, this 'slow' season was anything slow!!!

In the midst of all of this madness, one of my closest and oldest friends - let's call him Mikey Lindacher - sent along a message that has been ringing through my head ever since. I'd like to share a snippet of that with you, for his perspective is as refreshing as the spring air that fills our lungs:

"Flint, you know what I want??"

"To live content with small means. To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than style. To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy in spirit, not rich. To work hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly. To listen to stars and birds with an open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, HURRY NEVER. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony...the instruments are all around me."

**Breathe**

Thanks for that Mikey...

I'll be back soon with some images, today I decided rather to share a thought.

I hope that this finds you all with receptive hearts and soaring spirits.

Was great reading your first post after meeting both of you in England. And very inspiring, too, I think my head will also spin around these words!
And I shall finalize and send that disc with images soon...;-)

All the best from Switzerland,
Philippe

These thoughts remind me of the great poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley. I burned one of his great quotes into my mind... He said, "These are the spells by which to re-assume, and empire or the disentangled doom, to forgive wrongs darker than night or death, to suffer woes which hope things infinite, to defy omnipotent power, to bear.. to love, to hope... til hope creates from it's own wreck the thing it contemplates.... This is to be good. This is to be great, joyous, beautiful, and FREE!" Makes me gasp! Jos Smith - JOSSMITH.com

This message from Mikey is AWESOME. I am going to copy/paste this so I can print and put it by my workstation. You always inspire me Tomas. I know very few people that are as good to the core as you.
